Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Can't decide about my will, no immediate family

My friend has no will... yet... and can't decide what to do. If there is no will will the state divide the estate with distant cousins (she would rather they not get the estate).

Without a Will the Estate will first go to surviving spouse and children, if any exist. Then to parents, then siblings, then to desendants of deceased siblings, then to grandparents. The cousins would eventually be in line if none of the above apply. Florida Statutes 732.103 controls distribution without a will. I suggest you speak with an attorney
