Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Deleting a deceased name off home deed/title

House is paid for and in both husband & my name. I gave death cert. to Probate Dept at courthouse and they recorded the will. (will also gives me everything) They told me I could get a quitclaim form and deed house to myself. Someone who studied law (not lawyer) told me I have to get an atty to file so noone could contest the will. I have the right of survivorship as well. Do I have to pay a lawyer to do this? I've lost 1/2 of my income and can't afford it. Thank you for your help. Wouldn't the courthouse be correct?

Re: Deleting a deceased name off home deed/title

If house was in both your names, as survivor you can record a new deed. You can do it yourself once you obtain the proper forms to use.
