Determination of assets

Before death, mother bought car in her name and name of child to qualify for medicaid Since death, there is a question of ownership of the car and is its worth to be considered an asset to be divided equally among three siblings along with her other assets as per her will.

This is not enough information for a definite answer; but it would seem that the car is owned half by your mother's estate and half by the one child she owned it with. So, half of the value of the car has to be divided among her heirs (at law or under a will) and the other half goes to the one child on the title (that child also gets his/her equal share of the Mom's half of the car). If Mom was married, the husband is also an heir and he actually gets half (of her half). Sorry, its confusing.
