Determining Heirs
My mother's will leaves her home to my brother and me. My brother died before my mother did and the will was never changed. Who becomes the heirs of the house - me and sister-in-law or me and my brother's children?

If the will is silent on the point, the default rule would leave assets to you and the children. Be careful in reading the will to see if there are any definitions or provisions modifying this.
