Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
A dog from Florida was bequeathed to our charity, in Pennsylvania, through a living trust written in Florida. The trustee did not release the dog to our charity for a year. While the dog was still in Florida, it bit someone. According to Florida law, who owned the dog at that time?

Likely it is the trust, but no one can answer this without seeing the actual trust instrument. A dog is personal property and could potentially transfer on death even though the actual possession did not occur until a year later.
