Entitlement to proceeds from wrongful death suit

My father recently passed. Our relationship was estranged--limited contact in the past 10 years. Step Mother, married to father 20+ years has a wrongful death suit in process against the doctors and hospital who treated my father. Am I entitled to proceeds from a victory in this suit?
