Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
Estate closing
I am personal rep to aunt's estate.
The estate is open two years.attorney I was using, left the firm, informed me,
she could not take my case with her,it stayed with firm. am working with one of the partners who is hostile. am close enough to the end to ride it out. He,or his assistance will not communicate when I ask questions. They communicate with me when they want to ask questions.
phone calls to voice mail not permitted, request all communication in email. I send email return receipt req. which they refuse to return. When I send email to para legal and cc partner asking why , partner hostilly replys'' you are not our only client''.am asking for status on closing due to my travel plans . I have found the assistant to not follow through, her boss covers for her.am awaiting tx on estate to finish, although information was submitted in Feb, CPA doing taxes is brother to partner said he did not rec until April.
Firm requested to roll estate account into firm account. I declined, unnecessary, they threatened to withdraw, but did not, things have worsened ever since. .
What are my alertnatives, I need commuication from them. I would like to report this to the Fl. Bar Assoc. Thanks for your time. It is appreciated.

Re: Estate closing
You have the right to report to the Florida Bar and you have the right to fire your attorney. Your attorney also has the right to withdraw from the case. If you are at the end you may want to hang in there to finish things up and to avoid retaining another attorney. On the other hand, if you can not tolerate it any longer you have the right to fire the attorney and retain another attorney.
