Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My father lives in Florida. His condo is his homesteaded property. I understand that homestead property is protected from a Medicaid spend down, should he ever have to enter a skilled nursing facility for an extended period. If he was in a facility in a different state (CA, MA or S.C) to be near one of his children, would his Florida property be vulnerable?

Medicaid people will know and be able to tell you eith certainty, but I don't believe it is vulnerable if it is worth less than $500,000.
