Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
My father passed away in March 2005. He had substantial 401k that was never claimed. His former employer contacted my sister and myself to say that the account was transferred to retirement clearing house and that his four children are entitled to it. We are having trouble getting rch to walk us through the process as none of us have done anything like this before. We are all adults and live in three different states. We were all children when he passed and he was not married at the time. I am trying to figure out what we need to do

Jointly hire an attorney to assist you. If no beneficiaries listen than probate likely will be required.

Need to find where the funds are and what their requirements are to obtain it.
Send RCH a certified letter with death certificate and addresses of beneficiaries requesting information to collect the account.
