If I file a deed in lieu of for my wifes deceased uncle"s house, can the bank go back to the estate to collect any money he owes on his reverse mortgage that the sale did not cover .My wife received a small life insurance settelment that is being held till the estate is setteled

Unless the bank agreed to no deficiency judgment, yes. Life insurance to a named beneficiary is not part of the estate.
