Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
Finding out the contents of a will.
I found out today that my son's paternal grandfather died nearly 2 years ago. My son's father hasn't been an active participant in my son's life, so that is why I'm just finding out. I want to know how I can go about finding out what the details of the will are and see if this man left any sort of inheritance to his grandchildren. If he did, my son is entitled and I'd like to be able to set up a trust. Is it possible to find out the contents of a two year old will?

If there was a probate proceeding and the Will was admitted to probate it is a public record. A copy will be available to you from the probate court. Call the probate court in the county where the deceased resided and ask if there is a file.
