Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Florida Probate is a final accounting required

My aunt passed away in Jan of 2005..I am one of the beneficiaries in her will. The personal representative called me the other day and said ''Everything is done, you will get your check by the end of next week''..I was led to believe that the personal representative needed to send us a final accounting to approve before he made distribution. I am concerned about this since myself and some of the other beneficiaries doubt his trustworthiness. Is he required to send us a copy of the final accounting to approve before he can send us checks or am I wrong? Thanks for your help

Yes, an accounting should be filed. You have the right to ask the court to compel it.
