Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
Form To Distribute Funds To Beneficiaries?
My father had a revocable trust in Florida, then died... My sister is the trustee, I am the alternate trustee... We are dividing the estate in stages (50-50 according to his will). We want to divide money coming from cds which have matured. First: is there a form my sister must fill out, or as trustee, does she merely have to make out checks to me and herself, and note the transactions? 2nd: Since much of the estate is in stocks and has LOST value since his death, must we pay taxes on the dividends of the cd, or does the lost stock value negate that factor? Or, can we simply take the principal and leave the rest in the estate, without paying tax on the dividends?

No form is required for distribution. Speak to your accountant as to tax issues.
