Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Hello!

My husband and I have a 1.5 year old and are expecting our 2nd child this spring. Like most parents, we'd like to be sure our children will be properly taken care of if anything were to happen to us. We'd like to create a will, but we have a very tight budget and can't afford the $200-$300 lawyer fees.

What is the best way for parents in our position to create a legal document stating our wishes for our children if we were both to die? We've heard we can print forms off the internet and have them notarized by a notary. Is this a legal, price-effective option?

Thank you!

From experience I can tell you that utilization of on-line estate planning documents will cause you more problems than having nothing at all. Setting up a proper estate plan to insure your child is properly cared for and selecting the individual(s) who will administer the funds and care for them is one of the most important decisions you must make. I would find a way to pay for proper legal guidance.
