Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

my husband died he left his 401K from Publix in the name of his mother(he started working there when he was a teenager). She gave the money as soon as her son died to her granddaughter but zero to her grandson. Yesterday the grandfather showed up and said that he had money for him at a bank and that grandson had to go sign with his grandmother so he can get it. My son does not want to deal with or see his grandparents they took our home and have destroyed us. How can he get his money without having to see the grandparents , the small part that she is saying she will give him; now he is turning 19 in June so he can get it out of the bank, out of her hands, we desperately need the money to find somewhere to live. What can he do?

From your description the grandson has no absolute right to anything. Sounds like if he wants to get the money he needs to go to the bank and sign or at least see what is being offered. Seek legal advice with all details as it appears there are facts which are missing, like how did the grandparents take your home?

I agree with the above statement. If you think you were "cheated" somehow after your husbands passing then you should see an attorney and let them assess the facts and provide you with options and opinions.
