Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

my husband's estate

My husband died a year ago. I am now getting billed by a company who was paid by the insurance but for some reason the insurance demanded the money be returned. Now the company wants my Husband's estate to pay. Their was only life insurance money and that has been dispursed. I do not think I should have to pay this bill. It is too late for it to be submitted to medicare or medicade.

Re: my husband's estate

If there is nothing in the estate, then they are out of luck. The life insurance proceeds did not go though the estate. If you did not agree to pay the bill (by signing something) then you are not responsible. Just write back to say that the estate has been closed and there are no remaining assets.
