Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

IRA account

I was engaged to a man who's divorce became effective 6 days before he took his life. As he did not have a lawyer he had not changed beneficiary on his IRA account. He did write a letter of intention (last will not witnessed) and letters to those mentioned in this last will as to how he wanted his estate dispursed. The IRA was to come to me, do I have a claim on the IRA?
