Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

irrevocable trust

I am a beneficiary of my husband's irrevocable trust. I am entitled to the income. When my funds run out, then the trust is supposed to support me. Upon my death, my stepson will inherit the remainder. Wachovia is the trustee. Because of the current stock market, the trust is losing alot of money. Wachovia tells me it has to stay invested in stocks and bonds. I have the power to change the trustee. Is it true that I have to sit by and watch the trust steadily lose money because it has to stay invested in stocks and bonds? I am afraid that it will all be lost.
