Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Is a New Jersey will valid in Florida

My mother-in-law recently passed away, and I need to know if her will, which is in New Jersey, is valid, even though she was a resident in Florida. She was a NJ resident at the time her will was made.

First you will need the original will, not a copy. Once you have the original will and a death certificate than take those documents to an attorney in the county where your mother-in-law passed away. If she has anything in her name only such as property, cars, accounts for example then the will needs to go through probate. If she does not have anything in her name only than probate is not necessary and it doesn't matter if the will complies with Florida law.
