Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
life estate
My sister gave my parents life estate to some property on which they put a mobile home. My father passed away and just recently my mother passed. They had one adopted daughter, myself, and two biological daughters. My sisters claim about four years ago my mother put the mobile home in both their names. They will not show me the paper mom signed giving them the mobile home. I realize the one sister will get her land back. They tell me I will get nothing. If she put the mobile home in their names, would they have had to file that paper with the court? My mother paid the taxes and claimed homestead exemption right up to her death. Do I have any right to any part of my parents estate?

Re: life estate
The land definitley goes back to the first sister. You should be able to check the title on the mobile home just like you would check the title on a car. Call the DMV or the county recorder to figure this out. If you suspect there was fraud, forgery, duress or undue influence, you would have to see a local attorney to determine if litigation is a viable option. If they owned anything outright you each get a third.
