Why are you waiting. Contact the clerk of court's office, probate division, and ask if an estate has been open or if there is a will on file in the courthouse. If not, then you open the estate and probate your father's estate. You will take according to the intestate inheritance laws of Florida. Contact my office if you are in the Duval, Nassau, St. Johns or Clay counties. I will be gald to assist you in this matter.
You should contact the probate court in the area where he resided to see if a will has been filed or an estate administration has been started. If not, you should file the paperwork to get things started. I have a blog post on probate basics on my website, www.floridawillmaker.com. I would be happy to help. Regards,
