does it matter if a person has bad credit in order to be named to recieve something in a will ?

Credit rating or debt does not affect such bequests; however, a creditor may attempt to levy on or take legal action regarding such property.

My colleagues are both correct. However, just a thought - if you are receiving money, make sure you have it put in your hand. If you deposit - it could be attached by creditors.
