Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
Mom passed away 7 months ago and I need to change the title of my home into my name. What steps do I need to take and how much does it cost ?

It depends on how she owned it and if it was her homestead (which I presume).
If others are already on the title, possibly recording a few documents including a death certificate may do.
If she was the only one on the title, then you need to file a probate proceeding in court and include a Petition to Determine Homestead. A lawyer would then be required for this.
If you contact my office, 888-475-1732, on Tuesday, I would be glad to give you a free phone consultation and include what the different costs may be.
It's going to depend on several things; how it was titled, whether she left a will or not, whether there is surviving spouse, if any, and whether there are other children if she left no will or what will says if there is a will.
It's best to simply make an appointment with a probate lawyer and show them the paperwork.
My Colleagues have given you great advice. I do not know what county you are in but if you are in Duval County, contact my office for an appointment. 904-997-1031
