Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My mother passed away and had a Revocable Trust, however, there was one small checking account with an amount of $555.00 that was not in the Trust and I was told I need to go to probate to get the monies released. The attorney's fee and filing will probably cost more than that amount. Can I go to the Court and file a Small Estate Affidavit, or whatever the proper form is, myself? It's not a lot of money but I hate to have the State take it over. Most of my parents assets were in the Trust and everything worked out smoothly, except for this one small snag. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks. Also would I go to Probate Court to file this.

If it is to pay, or reimburse, for funeral expenses and the like, you may be able to file a Disposition without Administration. You do that at the Probate Court without an attorney. You may want to contact the court to find out the details on whether you can do it or not.
