Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My mother is a resident of New York State. She owns a home and does her banking there. She will be living with me in Florida for an extended period of time while we try to resolve some health issues.

Should I have a power of attorney that complies with state law in New York, Florida, or both?

If I need a POA from NY, can it be executed in Florida?
