Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My mother is 84 w / dementia but, can still make her own decisions. She has given me power of attorney and executor of her will. I will get the condo( for taking care of her) worth about 1000,00 and my brother and sister will split the cash that is left (maybe 1000.00) for doing nothing. They hardly even see her and live in same town. When she passes, my sister will try to sue me. What kind of records should I keep?

Huh? you need to document everything and I would not distribute or allocate assets on your own at this time or any time. Did your mother prepare a will with the allocation you indicate? that plan would be put into place upon her death. the poa should be used to pay her bills and take care of her needs while she is alive. has the condo been put into your name or is it to be distributed through probate? You really need an attorney to assist you now with regard to the assets and how to protect them.

She should be video taped confirming her estate wishes. Her doctor should confirm her capacity to knowingly make estate decisions.
