The terms of the will cannot be arbitrarily ignored by your stepfather. However, there are homestead issues regarding real estate that affect the terms of the will. You need to consult an attorney, provide all of the facts and circumstances and let that attorney assist you. I would guess that doing so would involve a minimal amount of time, and thus would be reasonable in price. I handle probate work here in St. Petersburg, so if I can assist you please do not hesitate to contact me.
