Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Mother's Will

My mother passed away very recently in Florida. I am her eldest son. I have gone my separate way from my family. Question is: If she did leave me anything in her trust or will, would I be notified automatically anyway? Or do I need to initiate an inquiry thru an attorney? Thank you.

Re: Mother's Will

You should be notified, but it never hurts to ask. You do not need a lawyer. You can check the court house. Any will would or should be filed in the county where she lived or passed away. If you know who prepared or has possession, the law requires the will to be filed, so that you can ask for a copy.

You should be notified, however you can make your own inquiries and that may help you to know what is happening.
