Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
Murdered womans rights
My sister was murdered by her husband who was charged with first degree murder. They owned property together and he will attempt to liquidate their assets to cover his defense fees. They have a 21 year old daughter who wants to know if the assets can be frozen until at least the trial is over. The home in question is also the crime scene. What are her rights and what should we do to ensure that the property is left to the child. There was no will left to our knowledge.

Yes, a court proceeding to prevent any sale is needed. First she needs to be appointed personal representative of her mother's estate.
