Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
I am named in a will to receive assets. I have received formal notice that petition for discharge has been filed with the court. I am 'required to serve written defense' to the attorney and to file it also with the court. What does this mean? Thanks.

If you object to the petition for discharge, which should state how the assets are to be distributed, then you need to file your objection. If you agree, then you don't have to do anything except sign a receipt for the assets when distributed. Call the attorney who sent it out if you have any questions.
