Does he owe me money

Hello I have a strange kina situation. I have been seperated for aproz 5 years. I have 3 children that I am raising. I am still legaly married to my X, I have made several attempts to divorce him but he refuses to sign the paperwork. On Easter of 04 his grandmother passed. In Wich left him a considerable amount of money aproz 40.000.00. He is in the rears in child support aproz 5,000.00. He is a worhtless bum that don't pay for his kid's and don't call. My question to you is am I liable for any of his inheretence being that I'm still legaly merried to him. What should I do? I have to work fast before he get's it and blows it.. Thank you for your time Please help

If there is a child support order in place then you can file a motion to have it enforced and reference the inheritance funds. Also, you can file for divorce on your own and he does not have ot sign any "paperwork". Finally, an inheritance is personal and as his wife you are not automatically entitled to any of the money but your children are.
