Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My parents are deceased from 1991 and 2006 no will involved. My parents have unclaimed property in Florida how can I go about claiming the property? Plus they had land in North Carolina how can I claim that as well?

Florida may have a provision for you to claim the property without going through probate, but I doubt it. As for NC, you most likely will have to go through the probate process. You should contact a NC attorney in the area of the land and get the process started.

I know florida has an unclaimed property statute -I think property has to be claimed before 10 years or it goes to the state of florida. As to nc I am not sure but it could be researched . If you need my assistance in researching the unclaimed property e-mail me your phone number to discuss further.
