the passed away leaving the bulk of the ins money to the daughter in fla. what rights does the husband have to that money

If the daughter is the named beneficiary of the insurance policy, the surviving spouse has no rights to the money. You state leaving the bulk of his ins money to his daughter, so I assume she is the beneficiary. if not the analysis would change. sorry for your loss.
