Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Does POD documents supercede will

My mom just passed away. I have a will naming me as sole beneficiary but in going thru her documents it looks like she has my minor children as POD

on some CD's and checking accounts. Does the will supercede the other documents?

Re: Does POD documents supercede will

No -- the account designation as POD or, for instance, joint tenancy, would supercede the will. The will covers the assets of the estate. If assets don't reach the estate (like POD), then the will does not affect them.
