Re: probate

Every probate is different and it is not easy to estimate how long the process will take. If the deceased had an estate of less $75,000.00 and no debts it could take a few weeks to a couple of months. If the estate is greater, but less than a millionl, it might take six months to a year. If a federal estate tax return is required it may take up to two years to wrap everything up. In cases where there is real estate to sell the market may impact how long the process takes. In cases where heirs are disputing the will, there have been cases that have taken several years to complete. There is no one simple answer to your question and many things may occur that can delay the process.
