Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

probate in USVI - My aunt (my mother's) recently passed away (Dec 2011) after 53yrs of marriage also found out that she didn't leave a will and she has no surviving spouse or children. What action shoul I take if any.

Contact an attorney in USVI. As a niece you should have certain rights to the estate. In the alternative, contact counsel in Florida whose has contacts in USVI, such as I.

If they were a USVI resident, then probate would be in USVI. You need to inquire there.

If your mother's aunt passed away with no children and her parents are now deceased, then the estate would pass to her siblings. If she has no surviving siblings then to the heirs of her siblings.
