Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

property ownership

Parents purchased property together years ago, subsequently divorced, mother retained and continued to pay for property & lived on it for over 25 yrs. Her name appears to be the only name on the deed, along with the original sellers of the property, who have since deceased. Mother has paid all taxes and payments in all that time. Father will now argue that she never paid him child support payments when children were living with him, so he feels entitled to half of property. Aren't those two issues entirely separate? And, isn't her payment history and possession of said property enough to entitle her to full possession, and to sell if she so desires? Please advise.
