Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

My question is a two part question, im 17 years old and my dad just died, im the only family he had left and he didnt have a will, he had a condo and a car and if he didnt have a will im assuming it would go to me since im the only one left for it to go to, but the condo im assuming catn go to me yet since im not 18, so i would just like to know how would gain ownership of the car and/or the condo.

The problem is that you are not 18. When you turn 18 may be relavant as to what might be done. As the sole heir, without a will, you are entitled to the property, and it would be through a probate proceeding to transfer it. If you are an early 17, then you probably will need the help of someone older to represent your interests.

It does not matter that you are 17 to own property. You can own property at any age - its whether you can afford to keep it that may be a problem. Do you have a mother? Someone will have to be appointed your guardian unless you are emancipated.
