Can a person refuse real estate or anything else left to them by someone in their will?

Yes. A person can refuse a bequest. Beware if you owe creditors. If you have specific questions, please contact an attorney.

Yes, you can disclaim the property. There may be consequences though.

Of course. A beneficiary can refuse to accept a bequest at any time from an estate. Oftentimes this is done in order to protect benefits of a much greater value from being affected or when a person simply does not want the bequest.
