When a relative dies, and you do not live near them, how do you find out if there is a will and if you are in it.

Call the probate department in court in the county where the relative died, ask if probate has been opened for xxxxx, ask if there is a will in the file, and ask for a copy of the will.

You can call the court and get a copy of the will from the court. The will should have been filed within ten days. Regards,
