CAN THERE BE A SEPARATE TRUST WITHIN A TRUST, IN OTHER WORDS, i WANT TO TRANSFER ANNUITIES AND IRA'S TO AN EXISTING TRUST BUT WANT A SEPARATE TRUSTEE BESIDES ME TO BE IN CHARGE AFTER MY DEMISE.

Yes-you name a successor trustee to yourself and make the mentioned accounts as beneficiaries of the trust.
Special language is needed in the trust to avoid a tax problem.
