Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

settlement of estate

Is there a limit as to how long it should take to settle an estate? This is a very small amount ($15,000+) and has been going on since my mother passed away last September (2003).

Re: settlement of estate

That seems awfully long to me but it depends on any complexities that may be causing the delays. In Florida, estates under $75,000 are eligible for Summary Administration, which usually just takes a few months. If you have an attorney you should discuss your concerns with him/her. Otherwise, feel free to give me a call if you have any further questions.
