If a sibling who has no spouse or heirs passes away, leaving one parent and five siblings and there is no will, what happens to the assets (mortgaged house and vehicle)?

All the estate passes to the parent.

It may depend on State law and where the house is located, but in Florida, the property would go to the parent.
