I am assuming that you filed a Summary Probate Administration and that the estate qualified for such. Was the house your step-father's homestead? If so, the summary administration order should give you the authority to dispose of the house.

If the house was titled in his name alone, it should have been part of the estate. Contact the court or your attorney for more assistance.
