Taxes Due on Inherited Property

Grandmother died in Md.1 year ago, left property in Fla. to 5 grandchildren. Taxes are due , 1 of the 5 does not want to pay. What are the consequnces of that 1 ?

Others should pay and seek reimbursement, otherwise governement will file a lien.

If you are talking about real estate property taxes, the downside is that the property could be sold for back taxes if not paid. In most counties that process takes quite awhile and the property taxes have to remain unpaid for several years. I would call the property tax department in the county where the property is located and talk to them directly.
