Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Threatened by step-mom

I am a single mom with two kids. I had to borrow some money from my dad to pay off my credit debts five years ago. I wrote a promise note that I was goint to pay him back when my situations would get better. My dad passed away two years ago and my step- mom threatend me to sue over the note I wrote. It was between me and my dad. Do I have to pay her back? I was going to do that but I don't like the way she has been acting. My dad didn't live a will so whatever he had had all hers. How can I stop her from harassing me?

Re: Threatened by step-mom

If it was only a debt to him, then only his estate could enforce the debt. Your stepmother could not do so.
