Without seeing the actual instrument, it usually means that you would be entitled to what is left after paying costs and expenses and deduction of specific gifts.

The type of testamentary instrument is important to your inquiry. Without seeing the document and its language it is difficult to say what your interest is.
Generally a remainder is paid after specific bequests or gifts are paid. A trust may involve a life estate and this may terminate upon the death of the person being supported by the estate or a specific interest given in real property or other asset.
