Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Trust name and reaffirmation

Question 1: My parents have moved to NC from FL to live with me. In FL, a living trust was drafted and sent to the brokerage and bank. The bank changed the name of the trust slightly. Does the name of the trust have to be the consistent on the trust document and on the accounts?

Question 2: Is it necessary to reaffirm the trust periodically or when residency is changed?

Re: Trust name and reaffirmation

1. THAT SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM, AS LONG AS THE NAME THE BANK IS USING CLEARLY TIES THE ACCOUNT TO THIS PARTICULAR TRUST. FOR THAT REASON, THE NAME USUALLY INCLUDES THE MAKERS' NAMES AND THE DATE OF THE TRUST.

2. PROBABLY NOT. I IMAGINE NC AND FL TRUST LAW IS ABOUT THE SAME. YOU MIGHT WANT TO RUN IT BY A NC LAWYER ANYHOW, JUST TO BE SURE.
