Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
Unsecured credit card debt
I have been told that unsecured credit card debt dies with you. Your relatives or children are not responsible for paying the credit card debt. However, can the credit card company file a claim against the estate?

Re: Unsecured credit card debt
Anyone can file a claim against an estate. That said, in Florida homestead protected property may pass to heirs free from the claims of creditors.
