Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Warranty Deed In Grandfathers Name

My grandfather died in 1983. My grandmother has just become unable to live alone and is now living with me. We are in the process of selling her house in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida and the potential buyer has requested a title/deed search to insure that their are no leins on the property. No leins were found but the deed is in my grandfathers name (alone). The property appraisal and tax bill is in my grandmothers name. My grandmother is certain that my grandfathers will was probated. What steps do I take to get the deed in my grandmothers name?

Re: Warranty Deed In Grandfathers Name

If a probate was completed you should review the records to see if a deed was issued to your father. If not you need to reopen the probate and have a p.r. deed issued. If no probate was opened this is the time to do it.
